Annual check up completed on Friday. I’ve lost 25 pounds. My blood pressure is down (though still higher than it should be). My resting heart rate in the mid 40’s. Nothing like good diet and exercise. If I can do it anybody can…I really loved french fries and chips. With a few exceptions from time to time, I basically gave up all potato, rice and processed flour products and after that ate pretty much whatever I wanted…including a lot of ice cream. That was one thing I couldn’t give up. The amazing thing is I have no cravings for french fries or chips anymore. None at all. I also started running a lot and doing yoga to stretch out my hips so I could run even more. I had stopped running a few years ago because of hip pain. Some doctors told me to take Advil. I didn’t really want to live on Advil, so I tried yoga. And it worked. No more hip pain. I didn’t expect it, but the Yoga has also been great for conditioning. I sleep better, my stress level is lower and I’m no longer going to the chiropracter once a week to deal with my neck and back. This was a day by day, step by step journey that anybody could do. I just woke up one day and started.
